A cam sensor connector is a small piece of equipment that connects the position sensor in a car's camshaft to the electrical wiring throughout the rest of the car. The connector allows the sensor to transmit information about the position of the camshaft in the car's engine block.
A camshaft sensor is, as of 2015, a common device in modern cars. Older models used an ignition pickup and trigger wheel to time when the engine would fire. The camshaft sensor serves the same purpose, by continually reading the position of the camshaft as it rotates within the engine. It transmits this data to the car's engine control computer.
The cam sensor connector attaches the wiring for these activities to the rest of the car. Like other connectors within the engine block, it connects the wiring using a system of pins and terminals.
