Etihad Airways and Emirates historically rank among the world's leading airlines, but change spots on the charts. Emirates earns the top spot in Skytrax's list of top 10 airlines, while Etihad ranks seventh, notes Forbes. Etihad earned the top spot at the 2014 World Travel Awards, however, for having an exceptional first class and attentive flight staff.
Both Etihad and Emirates belong to the same parent nation, which is United Arab Emirates. Both offer luxurious reclining seats and amenities for long-distance travel. Etihad provides low cabin lighting in flight, and passengers receive blankets for sleeping. The airline even boasts childcare services for passengers thanks to an onboard nanny. Both airlines operate numerous Boeing 777 passenger jets, which have spacious cabins and maximize passenger comfort.
