Bridgestone's Greatec Super Single tires are lighter than conventional tires and allow vehicles to carry more revenue-paying loads. They also improve the fuel economy by reducing fuel consumption by two to five percent. Also, by using one wider tire instead of two conventional tires, trailers produce less scrap rubber.
The reduced width of Bridgestone's Super Single tires allow vehicle designers to position the tires farther apart and the tank lower in the chassis than the regular dual tires. This results in greater stability when the vehicles make turns. The reduced tire width also allows designers to use the vehicle space more efficiently. In addition, the radials of these tires have a new casing structure that enhances their durability.
