The Turbo-Hydramatic 700r4 is a four-speed automatic transmission first used in the Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Blazer and GMC Jimmy in 1982. The 700r4 was renamed the 4L60 in 1990, but remained unchanged mechanically. The Corvette was available with the 700r4/4L60 from 1982 to 2005. Other vehicles that have featured the 700r4 are the Hummer H2 from 2003 to 2007 and the Saab 9-7X from 2005 to 2009.
GM first produced the Turbo-Hydramatic 400 for use in Buicks and Cadillacs in 1964. The Turbo-Hydramatic line replaced all other GM automatic transmissions by 1973.
