The 2015 Titan does not use diesel, but rather a gasoline-powered 5.6-liter Endurance 32-valve V-8 with 317 horsepower, as noted on the Nissan website. The 2016 Titan, which is slated for release by the end of 2015, offers a Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel.
The Nissan Titan full-size engine experienced relatively few changes as competing models like the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado underwent full redesigns. As of 2015, the current Titan comes only with a V-8 engine, as Nissan does not offer a six-cylinder model. However, the next generation Titan XD features a 5.0-liter turbocharged common-rail diesel V-8 engine, with 310 horsepower and a maximum towing capacity in excess of 12,000 pounds.
