The Land Rover Range Rover, Acura MDX, Mercedes-Benz GL Class, Lexus RX and Audi Q5 are the top five luxury Sports Utility Vehicles for 2014, according to Kelly Blue Book. The final five are the Porsche Cayenne, Infiniti QX80, BMW X5, Volvo XC60 and Buick Enclave.
The Land Rover Range Rover was the best luxury SUV in 2014 for a couple of reasons, as explained by Kelly Blue Book. It offers elegance and luxury along with an excellent off-road capability. It comes with a 340-horsepower engine and an Environmental Protection Agency estimated 17 to 23 miles per gallon. Kelly Blue Book's second choice, the Acura MDX, made the second spot thanks to its powerful engine, all-wheel-drive system and smooth transmission.
The Mercedes-Benz GL Class came in at number three thanks to its seven-passenger seating capabilities and ability to tow up to 7,500 pounds. It is also ranked as a great vehicle for off-roading. The GL Class has a 240-horsepower engine and EPA estimated 19 to 26 miles per gallon. The Lexus RX comes in just under the Mercedes-Benz and features a comfortable ride, advanced interior technology, and the option to choose gas or hybrid versions. Rounding out the top five luxury SUVs of 2014 is the Audi Q5 with efficient options, the ability to serve as a Wi-Fi hot spot and EPA estimated 20 to 28 miles per gallon.
