What Is a Wireless Hot Spot?

A wireless hotspot is an area or location with a wireless network. It is often used in public locations to connect to the Internet even without the usual wired network as in traditional LAN connections.

The wireless network uses radio waves similar to other communication systems such as mobile phones and televisions. People with capable devices and with the required credentials to connect are able to view, share, and modify data visible in the network. Through the wireless hotspot, several computers can be connected to the Internet at once whether it be at home, in the office or in a coffee shop.
