Wireless coverage maps are visual representations that show the varying levels of wireless service available to customers in a given area from mobile providers. Providers, including T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint and MetroPCS, have websites with pages showing the wireless coverage map for the customer's location.
Checking the wireless coverage map for the area where the customer lives or most uses mobile data before purchasing a plan is a good way to make sure that the fastest network speeds are available when needed. Some rural areas may not have 4G LTE or 4G coverage and may only have access to speeds up to 3G from some providers. Mobile devices must be capable of receiving a 4G and 4G LTE signal to achieve those data transfer speeds.
