Some popular YouTube movies in 2014 included "Mutant Giant Spider Dog," a video about a dog dressed up in a spider costume and scaring people; the "iPhone 6 Plus Bend Test," and one called "10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman." Budweiser and Nike ads were also popular.
Other YouTube movies or videos that were popular in 2014 include an advertisement about a boy meeting his penguin friend from John Lewis, a British retailer; Zach Galifinakis’ interview with President Barack Obama from Galifinakis' Web series, "Between Two Ferns;" a terrifying prank video with lots of screams called "Devil Baby Attack;" an ALS ice bucket challenge from the Simpsons; and the long-awaited trailer for the movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
Music videos were also very popular on YouTube in 2014. Some of the most watched and talked about were Meghan Trainor singing "All About That Bass," Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off," Katy Perry featuring Juicy J singing "Dark Horse," as well as "Bailando (Español)" by Enrique Iglesias and featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente De Zona. Shakira had two very popular music videos in 2014: "Can’t Remember to Forget You" featuring Rihanna and "La La La (Brazil 2014)" with help from Carlinhos Brown.
