The list of websites that feature webcam coverage of traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike includes the New Jersey Turnpike Authority website in addition to News12.com and 511NJ.org. These websites allows users to select a specific webcam feed and observe the traffic in real time.
On the New Jersey Turnpike Authority website, users can peruse the available webcam feeds through a list or by selecting a location on the map. Users can navigate the map by clicking on it and holding down the left mouse button, while using the mouse scroll wheel allows them to zoom in and out. They can select a bird’s eye view of the map or choose a standard road map. The Traffic section on News12.com provides similar features as State.NJ.us, but it also allows users to select specific webcam feeds by clicking on the star icon next to the links and have them displayed in a separate list by hovering over Options and clicking on My Cameras.
Each webcam feed is typically represented by a camera icon. By clicking on one of them, a small box that contains basic information regarding the selected road section pops up, allowing users to click on the Launch Live Video link to tune into the webcam feed. To watch the feeds, a user must have the Adobe Flash Player installed on his computer or use a Web browser that features an integrated Flash functionality, such as Google Chrome.
