Walmart.com allows users to search for products based on availability at a chosen store, and provides information such as stocking status, aisle location and, sometimes, the quantity of the item in stock. Target and Staples also shows website visitors nearby store locations based on the point of Internet access.
Macy's has a store locator search engine connected to Google Maps that identifies nearby Macy's retail outlets. The Macy's website also allows users to search for store events and catalogs. Apple likewise has a search engine, but it also provides a complete list of Apple stores by state.
