Kenwood's PKG-MR362BT and AquaticAV's line of marine stereos and media players are some waterproof stereo systems. Waterproof marine stereo systems are available with basic radio functions and two speakers, as well as those that incorporate MP3 and iPod media devices and multiple speaker configurations.
AquaticAV manufactures a complete line of waterproof stereo systems, marine amplifiers, subwoofers, speakers, and waterproof audio and video accessories as of 2015. The company's DM-5 series of waterproof media lockers accommodates Bluetooth and USB connections for Android devices, iPhones, iPods, MP3 players and FM radio. The enclosed case is IP65-rated for use in any environment, including dry, damp, muddy and wet. The system has a built-in 288-watt amplifier, can connect up to eight speakers and has a radio controlled remote that works up to 40 feet away.
The Kenwood package consists of the stereo unit and two speakers. It has USB and Bluetooth connectivity but does not protect the devices. The system can play standard audio compact disks or those burned on a computer in MP3 or WMA formats. It is compatible with devices using Pandora, iHeartRadio and other apps, as well as Sirius XM satellite radio. The system is marine-rated because of the resin-coated circuit boards that prevent corrosion, but a cover is recommended if it is going to be subjected to direct water impact.
