Full Answer

Verizon customers must sign up for online account access in order for the VZ contact-transfer tool to be able to access data from their old device. Once the online account is active, both the old and the new devices must be listed on the account. On the VZ contacts-support page, simply select the old and new devices and then follow the prompts that appear onscreen. This process must be completed before activating the new device. Verizon wireless contacts can also be transferred from one phone to another using the Backup Assistant feature. Backup Assistant can be accessed via a customer's online account, as well. Contacts are downloaded to a .csv file and saved. The saved file is then imported into iTunes or, if using a PC, into a program like Microsoft Outlook. With iCloud, the contacts file is transferred automatically to the new device when it is connected to the computer. If it isn't, simply sync iTunes with the device in order to complete the transfer.
