A virtual keyboard is a project or image of a keyword without physical keys. Each time the user touches the images of the letter keys, the virtual keyboard wirelessly transmits the input data. Virtual keywords are used with both computers and personal devices such as smartphones.
Virtual keyboards sometimes appear on a computer screen as an adaptive method for users who have difficulty using a traditional keyboard. The user either clicks the key images with a mouse or uses his fingers to touch the key images on a touchscreen device. Another type of virtual keyboard is one that is projected onto a flat surface, such as a desk. The user touches the image corresponding to the key on the projection to input data.
