A consumer can verify whether his phone is eligible for T-Mobile's 4G service by checking his device's International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number online at T-Mobile's website at the IMEI Status Check page. The device's IMEI number is its 14-16 digit serial number.
Once the IMEI number is typed into T-Mobile's online IMEI status check, the website then lets the consumer know whether his device his usable on the T-Mobile network. Note that if the IMEI number shows that the device is stolen, the device is likely not compatible on most carrier networks.
