Before the Weight Watchers calculator can be used, the plastic tab in the battery compartment must be removed. After turning on the calculator, you must enter personal information including age, height, weight and gender. You must then enter whether you want to lose or maintain weight. The calculator displays the allowed points for each day.
Personalizing the information helps the calculator give a more accurate assessment of how many points are allowed per day to reach your specific goals. Without that information, the calculator uses the default number of points for all people in the program.
When entering foods to determine how many points they are worth, it is important to have the nutrition information available. The information is usually found on the packaging. Most restaurants also offer the information for their foods online or on printouts at the locations.
After pressing the PointsPlus key, enter the information the calculator is requesting. Look at the nutrition information label for the food value the calculator is asking for, and use the number keys to input it. Press Enter to advance to the next screen. When all of the food values have been entered, the points value for each food is displayed on the screen.
