To acquire a satellite signal, switch on the device, and check the five indicator bars. It takes a couple of minutes to detect a satellite signal. A green signal on any of the indicator bars indicates the acquisition of a satellite signal.
The next step is to create a route. Press the Where To option in the main menu, and then tap on the Category option. Select the category appropriately as it determines the ease of searching for the destination. If there are any suboptions, select the specific category. Otherwise, directly select the desired destination from the provided list.
Then, save the location by first tapping the map screen and then selecting the Save option. An arrow displays the exact location, and a box displays the location details along with the coordinates. Select the Save option to save the location in the Favorites folder. To traverse to the location later, search through the Favorites list, choose the location, and tap the Go button.
Tap the text bar to view nearby turns. Use the plus sign and minus sign to zoom out and zoom into the map, respectively. In addition, the menu has icons that show the speed limit, miles to the next turn and trip statistics.
