The FAA MedXPress program is a system that enables a person applying for the FAA medical clearance certificate, the student pilot medical certificate or the medical certificate to complete form 8500-8 online. Open a Web browser, and access the Federal Aviation Administration website.
The first step is to create an FAA MedXPress account on the website. The website requests a name and email address and asks you to provide three security questions with the answers. The user needs to accept the terms of service agreement and privacy statement after filling up the details. Click the submit button.
After you submit the request to create the account, an email is sent to the registered user's email address containing the initial password along with steps for completing the account request process. Follow the instructions and complete the process. Log in to the account using the email address and password to complete the FAA form electronically. Fill the 8500-8 form and submit it.
The website recommends using Internet Explorer to view the website, as of June 2015, and Acrobat Reader to view, save, fill in, email, or print a form. The details that the user enters into the MedXPress form are then directed to the Federal Aviation Administration and are available to the aviation medical examiner designated by the FAA.
