Use a link to share a file with anyone, including non-Dropbox users. To share a file using the desktop client, select the file to share in the Dropbox folder, right click, and select Share Dropbox Link. Paste the link into an email or text message, and send it to anyone you would like to have access to the file. On the Dropbox website, sign into your Dropbox account, locate the file to share, hover the cursor over the file, and select Share. In the pop-up box, enter the email addresses of people you would like to send the link to, or copy and paste the link into emails or text messages.

To share a folder from the desktop client, find it in your Dropbox folder, right click, and select Share This Folder. Follow the prompts to invite people to access the folder. When someone accepts the invitation, the shared folder appears in his Dropbox folder, and any changes to files in the folder are updated with everyone who has access to that folder. To share a folder from the website, sign in to your Dropbox account, locate the folder to share, hover the cursor over the name of the folder, select the Share button, and then select Invite People to Collaborate.
