To use an Acer Aspire recovery disk in Windows 7, create one via the Acer eRecovery Management software, which comes pre-installed on most Acer computers as of 2015, and burn the content to an empty DVD. Configure Windows 7 to boot from the recovery disk, and run the recovery process.
To access the necessary software, click on the Start button, click All Programs, open the Acer folder, and then click on the Acer eRecovery Management icon. When the User Account Control appears, click Yes to confirm your administrative privileges. Once the software starts, click on the Backup button, and then select the Create Factory Default Disc option. Insert an empty DVD into the DVD burner, and click OK. When the prompt appears, insert a second DVD, and click OK to finalize the burning process.
Access the Boot menu by pressing the F12 key repeatedly while Windows 7 is booting up. Use the arrow keys to set your optical drive as the primary boot option, insert the first DVD into that drive, and press Enter. Once the Acer eRecovery Management software loads, click on the Restore button, and select the Restore Factory Settings option. Follow the on-screen instructions, and let the computer automatically restart once the reinstallation process completes. If you can’t access the Acer eRecovery Management software because you forgot the password, use the default password, six zeros, to regain access.
