The updates made to the Navigon 2100 map in the software version 1.2 update delivers an amended and improved routing algorithm that results in better and more intuitive routes, improved responsiveness of the user interface and an updated points-of-interest library. In addition, it provides updated maps, as of 2015.
The firmware update also incorporates new highway icons for Canadian highways on certain products and updated ZAGAT Survey ratings and reviews. In addition, the ZAGAT point-of-interest screen is easier to use, thereby making it simpler to locate top-rated destinations.
The updates also include improved accuracy in the expected time of arrival information and revised voice prompts for highway entrances and exit ramps. The updated version has a simplified main screen, revised text strings, bigger state selection buttons and improved visibility of the menu icons. In order to display the correct time, the new update has proper handling of leap year and daylight saving time.
The other updated features comprise of the default addition of the street names to the three-dimensional maps, enhanced performance while navigating between the menu screens and enhanced routing performance that enables getting to the destination easier and faster. Also, the software update enables better handling of high occupancy vehicle lanes and carpool lanes to exclude restricted lanes for normal routing.
