Pressing the All Updates button for a respective model takes you to the available list of updates for that model. HomeBase. Cobra lists that the HomeBase platform is compatible with all navigation models except the model 7700, which is rendered inoperable if it is updated using the HomeBase platform. Cobra advises owners of the 7700 to contact their customer service number, 773-889-3087, to update this particular unit.

All other HomeBase-compatible units can be updated by installing the corresponding version of the software for PC or Mac. To install HomeBase on PC, begin by downloading the installation package. Once the package download is complete, you must extract the zipped installation package. Windows Explorer in Windows 7 and 8 should be capable of opening this file type, but other third-party software, such as Winzip, can also be used. Select yes for all default settings and click install to complete the installation process.

Open the HomeBase platform and connect your GPS unit using the accompanying connector cable. Once you are connected to the Internet, the HomeBase platform identifies your specific model and download software updates to the unit.
