- Tap on "updates"
To begin updating apps that have been downloaded on an iPhone, launch the iTunes App Store and log in. Keep in mind that only the apps that were purchased using the particular iTunes account will be updated. If an app or apps were purchased using a different iTunes account, the password for the account must be entered before the update can proceed.
After launching the iTunes App Store, several icons will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap on the "updates" icon.
Tapping on the "updates" icon after launching iTunes start a scan to see if there are new update releases for the apps that were downloaded and installed on the iPhone. Once iTunes is done scanning, apps that have updates will appear on the screen with an "update" button next to it. Tap on the "update" button to begin the process. Alternatively, tap the "update all" button at the bottom of the screen if more than one app has an update.
