The SIM lock on a Samsung mobile phone may be unlocked by providing its IMEI number, a unique code for a particular phone, to an online service provider. The service provider computes a numerical unlock code for your mobile device and sends it via email. Upon receipt, the number is entered on the device to unlock it.
The SIM unlock code is usually emailed within a day. However, it could take up to three days in some cases. Alternatively, an individual may log in to the system and engage in a live chat with a customer support representative. Most Samsung devices across many world regions, such as in the United States, Europe, Australia, Canada, Latin America and parts of Africa may be unlocked this way. The service providers support almost all models.
However, if the phone is hard-locked, the unlock codes provided may not work. A hard-lock may be confirmed by entering a SIM card from a different mobile phone service provider. After switching it on, the phone prompts for a PIN. If the phone is hard-locked, it will display one of these messages: “SIM password,” “Network Lock,” “SIM network unlock PIN” or “Phone Freeze Contact Service Provider.”
