The Verizon Droid unlimited data plan is truly unlimited, with no caps or speed throttling in place as of November 2015. However, Verizon does not offer the unlimited data plan to new customers.
Verizon customers who already had the unlimited data plan were informed in October 2015 that the price of the plan was being increased by $20. Following the price increase, the speed cap which was previously applied to the top 5 percent of users was removed. Customers who opt to keep the plan at the new price may use as much data as they wish, with no throttling if they are heavy users.
