There are two ways to uninstall the AVG Antivirus program from a Windows PC or laptop. Using the Add/Remove Programs method is the most simple and straightforward, however, manual removal using the AVG Remover tool an alternate option if this method doesn't work.
From the desk top screen using Windows XP, click the Start menu button, select Control Panel, open Add/Remove Programs; using, 7 and Vista, under Control Panel select Programs and Features; for Windows 8 and higher, from the Start screen, start typing 'uninstall,' and a list populates. Select Uninstall a Program. The next step is to locate the AVG Antivirus from the list of currently installed programs. Highlight the program by right-clicking once, and select remove. If that option is not available, left click for additional options. Select Uninstall from the pop-up menu to launch the AVG Uninstall Wizard, and follow the prompts. Restarting the computer may be necessary to completely remove all of the components.
