To unblock pop-ups in Internet Explorer, access the Internet Properties dialog box and modify the pop-up settings in the Privacy tab. You can unblock pop-ups entirely by disabling the pop-up blocking function, or you can allow only certain websites to show pop-ups.
- Start Internet Explorer
Click on the Start button, and click on the Internet Explorer shortcut near the top of the list. If the shortcut is not present, type in “Internet Explorer” in the search field, and click on the Internet Explorer icon.
- Access the Internet Properties dialog box
Click on the cog icon in the upper-right corner, and click on Internet Options. Alternatively, press R while holding down the Start key, type in “inetcpl.cpl”, and press Enter.
- Modify the pop-up settings
In the Internet Properties dialog box, click on the Privacy tab, and navigate to the Pop-up Blocker section. Uncheck the box next to the option labeled Turn on Pop-up Blocker, and click OK to confirm the change. If you want only certain websites to show pop-ups, click on the Settings button in the same section. Type in the address of the desired website, and click on the Add button. Repeat this process to add other websites to the list. Set the desired blocking level by selecting one of the three available options from the drop-down menu, Low, Medium or High, and click on Close to complete the process.
