The list of top-rated mirrorless cameras, as reported by Tom's Guide, includes the Sony Alpha a5100 and a6000 models, Samsung NX1, Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark Ii and Fujifilm X-A2, as of 2015. Relative to digital single-lens reflex cameras, these cameras are typically smaller and capable of shooting pictures more quickly.
Among the five listed cameras, only the Sony Alpha a5100 and a6000 models feature a built-in flash capability. Although the Samsung NX1 is the most expensive model, it also features the highest shooting speed, 15 frames per second, and supports the highest resolution, 28.2 megapixels. The shooting speeds of other models range between 6 and 11 frames per second, while the resolutions range from 16.1 to 24.3 megapixels. All models except Sony Alpha a5100 include a viewfinder, while all feature a 3-inch LCD or OLED screen. Samsung NX1 also boasts the highest battery life, allowing users to take 500 shots on a single charge, while the other models are capable of taking between 310 and 400 shots.
The Sony Alpha a6000 model can capture video in high definition at frame rates of up to 60 frames per second, and it includes a 24-fps option for the cinematic look. Even though the Sony Alpha a5100 model doesn’t feature an optical viewfinder, it includes an LCD touch screen, which users can flip 180 degrees when taking selfies.
