To insert a text box in Pixie, select the text option from the toolbar at the top of the page and click on the desired space within the work area to start typing. Parents and teachers may modify the Pixie toolbar to accommodate children of various ages. Select General Preferences from the option panel, and adjust the default settings to include the text tool if it is not already available from the workspace.
Pixie offers a variety of text options. Users may choose from various font styles and sizes, set the alignment of the text and customize the colors. Options also exist to add shadows to letters or words or to incorporate speech bubbles into a project. Pixie's Cool Word tool offers additional text features.
