The Dell Optiplex 745 desktop computer comes in four form factors, from the ultra-small form factor to the large mini-tower with connectivity options for five separate hard drives. Every form factor includes a Broadcom 5754 Gigabit Ethernet LAN network interface and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
All form factors except the ultra-small form factor of the Dell OptiPlex 745 feature nine USB 2.0 ports. Two of these ports are situated on the front of the device, and another six are situated on the back along with an additional internal port. The desktop and small form factors are compatible with up to three hard drives: one internal hard drive and two external ones. The mini-tower form factor can connect with two internal hard drives and three external hard drives.
The desktop and mini-tower form factors of the Optiplex 745 feature connectivity for PCI and PCIe cards. The desktop version supports two low-profile PCI cards, while the mini-tower supports two full-height PCI cards. Both the desktop and small form factors support low-profile PCIe graphics cards.
Dell's ultra-small OptiPlex 745 features a single internal hard drive slot along with an external removable hard drive slot. This form factor only features seven USB 2.0 ports: two on the front of the device and five on the back.
