Apple's iPad Air 2 is one of the better tablets for taking pictures. It is followed by the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Nexus 7 and Microsoft Surface 2.
The iPad Air 2 has improved optics specifically for capturing 1080p videos and 8 megapixel photos. It has two cameras: one in front for FaceTime video calls and another in the rear. In general, however, cameras on tablets are generally poorer in quality than are those on smartphones. For example, many mobile device manufacturers include a camera with fewer megapixels on their tablets than on their mobile phones. They also include better optics on smartphones because more people take photos with their mobiles than with their tablets.
