Full Answer

  1. Search for System Restore

Click on the Start button. In the search box, type "system restore" and then select System Restore from the results that come up. Key in the administrator password, or provide confirmation if prompted to do so.

  2. Select your preferred restore point

Click on Recommended restore, and then click Next. If there isn't a recommended restore point, click Next, otherwise click on Next again after choosing the restore point that you prefer. It is advisable to choose a restore point that was created just before the date and time you started noticing problems. If you don't want to use the recommended restore that is provided, click on Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.

  3. Review restore point

Click on Scan for Affected Programs to view the programs that are affected by the System Restore. This may include programs that may ultimately be deleted after going through with the system restore. To complete the restore, click Finish after you review the restore point.
