Swype is a virtual four-in-one keyboard application that allows users to type or speak data into their smart phones quickly and efficiently. It was released in 2013 and is exclusively available on Android devices as of 2014.
As of 2014, Swype has plans to make the application available on Apple products. The Swype application is available in 71 languages. It can be backed-up and synced for use on multiple devices, and it has a Smart Editor for spelling and alternate word suggestion.
Creators believe users are able to enter data at 40 words per minute or faster. In 2010, a Swype employee named Franklin Page set a Guinness World Record for sending the fastest text message. He typed a 160 character message in 35.54 seconds.
