To make your computer run faster, clear up a significant amount of space on your memory drives. Reboot the computer, uninstall unnecessary programs and eliminate files that are harming your computer directly.
- Reboot your computer
Reboot your system, as it might have been continuously running for a long time. This allows the system to refresh itself and usually solves most of the problems that you are facing.
- Clean the background
There are usually many programs running simultaneously in the background. This constant drain on your PC takes up much needed resources without providing any direct benefit. Turn off or remove those programs. This also prevents them from slowing the start-up process.
- Deal with temporary files
Computers, during their daily running, accumulate many temporary files that are left unchecked and can take up a lot of space. The lack of free space is very harmful to your computer, as it limits further writing of data, causing processes to halt. Clear out those temporary folders, or use a reputable optimization program to do it for you.
- Get rid of malware
Viruses and other malware are easily obtained when browsing questionable websites or downloading suspect software. Use a good antivirus program and scan regularly to take care of such threats.
