The "Stack the States Lite" app is a free educational game app that teaches players about the 50 United States in a varied, dynamic way. It is a free version of the full "Stack the States" app, which means that it displays paid advertising during gameplay and has fewer features.
"Stack the States" features a quiz-style of gameplay in which players answer multiple-choice questions about state shapes, capitals, nicknames, locations, abbreviations, state flags and other vital statistics in order to advance. "Stack the States" refers to a segment of gameplay in which, after answering a question correctly, the player is rewarded with an animated character in the shape of one of the 50 states. The player uses his fingers on the touch screen to move and rotate the state, then lets it fall onto a staging area.
The objective of the game is to build a stack of accumulated states that is tall enough to reach a given goal line. When the goal line is reached, the player advances to the next level. The player's progress is tracked by a personalized map of the United States, on which each state accumulated counts as an achievement. Visually interesting and dynamic, the game features music, sound effects and high-resolution pictures of famous US landmarks. "Stack the States Lite" is available for both Android and iOS, and is iPad-compatible.
