A splash page, which is also known as a splash screen, is a full-screen graphical representation of a company logo. It can also be the logo of a company's software program, or it can be an animation. The splash page contains software information, technical details and user directions.
Companies employ splash pages to educate users in one screen about the details necessary to use software immediately. They are also used to showcase the skills of the programmer and display a selection of graphical work. In comic books, a splash page is a spread that is completely taken up by images.
