SpeedBit Video Accelerator is a piece of software that increases download speeds and eliminates buffering of online videos. However, despite the manufacturer's claims, many customers debate its merits and claim that it installs spyware and edits browser settings on most computers.
The Video Accelerator is created by SpeedBit, an Israeli startup company founded in 1999. Representatives from the company claim that the software can increase download speeds from 400 percent to 1,000 percent. The free beta version of the software worked only with the servers of certain companies, including YouTube, Metacafe, and others. It also worked with Apple's servers to dramatically increase download speeds of songs and movies.
