The HP Mini 1000 is a small netbook that uses the Atom N270 processor by Intel. The Mini 1000 has an integrated GPU and comes with Windows XP Media Center Edition.
Running at 1.6 gigahertz frequency, the Mini's Atom processor accompanies the Intel GMA 950 graphic adapter. The netbook offers 1 gigabyte of DDR2 RAM, but the motherboard supports expansion up to 2 gigabytes. The 8.9-inch display runs at a resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels and features an LED-backlit TFT LCD panel. The Mini 1000 has 60 gigabytes of internal storage and is compatible with SD, SDHC and MMC cards.
The netbook features 802.11 g wireless connectivity, stereo speakers and Bluetooth 2.0. It has one headphone, one microphone, one Ethernet, one VGA and two USB ports. The hardware is built onto the 945GSE chipset by Intel that hold the integrated GMA960 graphics adapter. The Mini 1000 weighs 3.1 pounds and is 0.99 inches thick. Reviews indicate that while the keyboard is a good one, the laptop has a glossy screen that is hard to see in daylight. The mouse buttons are on either side of the touchpad.
