The HP 2000 laptop series features 28 different laptops; common features of this series include a 1.3GHz processor, 4GB of memory, with a maximum supported capacity of 8GB, a 320 GB hard drive and a 1,366 by 768 display.
The majority of HP 2000 laptops offer extended-life batteries, 15-inch screens and traditional keyboards with large black keys. Each HP 2000 laptop is powered by an AMD processor and graphics chipset.
The 2000 series laptops run on the Windows 8 operating system and feature a multi-format digital media card reader and multiple external ports, including 3 USB ports, an HDMI, headphone-out and microphone-in port. Each 2000 series laptop is equipped with the Microsoft App store, SuperMulti DVD burner, a 10/100BASE-T Ethernet network card, wireless and Xbox Live connectivity and the HP games suite. Other features built into this series include apps from Kindle, iHeart Radio, Skype, Kindle, eBay and Netflix. Trial versions of Norton Internet Security and Microsoft Office are also available on each HP 2000 laptop.
The HP 2000 series laptops are relatively inexpensive with average costs around $300. The series is intended for basic uses such as web browsing, emailing and word processing. The machines' graphics accelerators are not considered sufficient for running graphics-intensive applications.
