Software titles for making student identification cards include Rediker Software's Pictures Plus, Entrust Datacard and Xpress Software's Advanced ID Creator, as of 2015. The primary goal of these programs is to help improve school security, track activity and increase school pride.
Pictures Plus allows users to create identification cards for school staff and students by using either templates or custom designs. The format of the cards can be horizontal or vertical, with the option to add a scannable barcode that students can use to check out library books and purchase lunch and staff can use to record attendance. It is possible to link the information from the identification cards with other Rediker Software products, such as Admissions Plus Pro, QSP Cafeteria, SNAP Health Center and TeacherPlus.
Datacard offers similar design and function features with an emphasis on its solution's security and flexibility for staff, students and guests. It provides one card that is compatible with any existing methods in use on campus. Entrust Datacard Corporation also has hardware and security supplies that work alongside its software.
Advanced ID Creator is available in four different editions: personal, professional, premier and enterprise. Each version has different features in terms of printing, user interface, design customization, management and security. Xpress Software offers a 30-day trial on all versions, as of 2015.
