Software programs such as exPressit Label Design Studio, Microsoft Word and Adobe Photoshop Elements can create and edit or Memorex CD label templates, as of 2015. Each site offers different tools to add text, colors and graphics to the labels, though all require special label paper to print correctly at home.
Memorex makes the exPressit Label Design Studio program specifically for the purpose of allowing users to make labels for its CDs. After downloading the program, you can choose to use the New CD Label Wizard to guide you through the process of making a template step by step, which includes instructions on choosing the appropriate label dimensions according to the Memorex CD in question. Alternately, you can skip the wizard and simply click on the New option from within the File menu to make the template on your own. The program also contains some premade templates for different CD styles, which you may edit and modify to match your needs.
Microsoft Word contains its own library of template designs which you may use as a basis for your CD template, though you can also create your own. The process involves inserting circles onto the paper to use a guides to ensure your image covers the appropriate area. Photoshop Elements offers a more advanced set of design tools that include a greater control over the drawing of shapes and creation of graphics. In both cases, you may need to measure the CD to ensure the proper dimensions.
