In some ways, Snapchat is not necessarily safe; for example, although pictures disappear within 10 seconds, people can take screen shots of photos or use other devices to acquire screenshots of pictures. Also, because pictures disappear, parents cannot see what photographic messages their children have received.
Snapchat, because of its disappearing photos feature, may also provide a false sense of security for private messaging and other activities. However, users do get a notification if someone takes a screen shot of a picture. Furthermore, it is possible for people with certain knowledge and skills to undo a picture's automatic deletion on Android devices. Snapchat is not intended for children 12 and younger.
