Siri works by listening to and processing a spoken request. To use Siri, hold down the Home button on a compatible Apple device until two beeps are heard, and then speak the request as clearly as possible using a conversational tone and your natural voice. Siri works with Apple iPhone 4S or later, iPad 3rd generation or later, iPad mini or iPod Touch 5th generation.
Siri can be used to dial a call, search the Internet, schedule meetings and reminders, get driving directions and more. While users ask Siri a question, waves moves on the screen to signify that Siri is listening. Once a conversation has been initiated with Siri, simply tapping the microphone icon allows users to talk to Siri again. Siri always waits for users to stop talking, but users can also indicate they have finished speaking by tapping the audio wave. This feature is especially useful in a noisy environment.
The more Siri is used, the more efficient its responses are, and the better it understands a speaker, since it learns the speaker's accent and other voice characteristics. Siri works better over time as more users use Siri in general, as this exposes the program to a variety of accents and dialects.
