Customers can sign up for cell service with Verizon Wireless online, or in-person at a Verizon Wireless store. Customers who already have a Verizon compatible device can sign up by selecting and purchasing the service plan they would like and activating their device on the Verizon Wireless network. Customers whose devices are not compatible can purchase Verizon Wireless compatible devices through Verizon or another retailer, after which the setup process is the same.
As of September 2015, Verizon Wireless offers four wireless service plans, stratified by the amount of wireless data they provide. All plans offer unlimited text messaging and calling. The smallest plan offers customers one gigabyte of data per month for $30 per month, and the largest plan provides 12 gigabytes of data per month for $80 per month. All plans add an additional $20 per month per phone associated with the plan. Additionally, customers who purchase their devices through Verizon Wireless can choose to pay the entire cost of the device upfront, or to have a monthly charge added to their bill as a payment plan.
Verizon Wireless' official website offers a store locator tool that customers can use to locate and contact Verizon Wireless stores in their area. At Verizon Wireless stores, customers can purchase phones and sign up for service plans.
