Sign in to your Hotmail account using your username and password on the Outlook website. Microsoft discontinued its Hotmail service in 2013 and automatically upgraded all users to Outlook. If you have trouble logging in to your account, contact customer support, or use Microsoft's troubleshooting guide on the Outlook help page.
- Visit Outlook
Type the Outlook URL address in your Web browser, and press Enter. If you try to visit the Hotmail page, Microsoft automatically redirects your request to the Outlook sign-in page. This redirect also occurs for users who have a Microsoft Live email account.
- Enter your information
Type in your Hotmail email address and your password in the correct spaces, and press Enter. Outlook should open and contain all of your Hotmail information. If you cannot log in using your Hotmail information, click Forgot Password, and enter your information. Otherwise, contact Microsoft for support.
- View your email
Check the left pane upon logging in for the Inbox and any other folders you created in Hotmail. Microsoft automatically transfers all of your previous Hotmail information to Outlook for your convenience. After checking your email, click your user name at the top-right corner of the screen, and click Sign Out.
