Most Sharp AQUOS flat-screen televisions work with the Video Electronics Standards Association Flat Display Mounting Interface specifications and can use any VESA-compatible stand that can support the television's weight. However, different AQUOS models may require different adapter plates to interface with a given VESA mount.
The VESA Flat Display mounting standard was developed to allow a single mounting specification for televisions produced by different manufacturers. Most television manufacturers, including Sharp, follow the VESA standards when designing their products, to allow use with any appropriate VESA mounting device. However, not all televisions have the required VESA mounting screws in exactly the same place, necessitating the use of specific adapter plates for some televisions.
