As shipped, the headset fits on the right side of the head. To change the configuration, remove the eartip, rotate the earloop down 90 degrees and pull off the earloop. Turn the headset upside-down and add a new earloop and eartip.

The Plantronics CS540 operates as either an over-the-ear or over-the-head system. To wear the headset with a headband, remove the eartip and earloop. Slide the headset into the headband vertically and rotate the headset up so the microphone rests near the corner of the operator's mouth.

For the standard desk phone connection, attach one end of the telephone interface cable to the port on the headset base. Remove the desk phone cord and re-attach it to the interface cable junction box. Plug the other end of the interface cable into the desk phone handset port. The headset works with a HL10 lifter or an EHS cable, but these accessories are sold separately.
