To set up a Netgear N600 Dual-Band Wireless Router, plug in your router to a power source, press the On/Off button, and launch your Web browser. Next, go to RouterLogin.net, and follow the prompts.
First, remove the router from the box, and identify all of its components. If any items are missing, return the box immediately. Next, turn off your modem by unplugging the power cord. Once the modem completely powers down, connect either end of the included Ethernet cable to your modem and the other end to the Internet port located on the back of your router. An Ethernet cable resembles a standard telephone cable with a larger plug.
Plug in your modem, wait approximately two to three minutes until the modem powers up, and connect the power adapter to the router. After the 2.4 GHz LED light illuminates, connect your computer to the router with one of the four LAN Ethernet ports or the wireless network. Lastly, open a Web browser, and visit RouterLogin.net. Follow all onscreen directions to customize the router settings. A Netgear genie guides you through this process and helps you connect to the Internet.
