The first step in setting up the Galaxy Tab is turning it on. Press the power button for roughly three seconds until the Samsung logo pops up, and then release the button. Next, select your desired language, and then tap Start.
It is important that you have an Internet connection for the rest of the setup process. If you have access to Wi-Fi, select a network from the list that the screen displays, enter a password if required, and then tap Next to connect. If you are asked whether to enable the Google Location Service, choose an option, and then tap Next. Also, if you are asked to set the date and time, do so, and then tap Next.
On the Google account screen that appears, tap Yes to proceed to the login screen. If you don't have a Google account, tap No, and then follow instructions to create one. Once at the login screen, enter your email address and password, and then tap Sign In or the right-hand arrow. Choose if you want the tablet to keep your data backed up with your Google account and whether you want to restore previous data from your existing Google account, and then tap Done or the right-hand arrow to finish setting up the tablet.
