To set up a Belkin router, remove it from the packaging and plug in the AC adapter to the electrical outlet and then to the router. Plug in the DSL cord if not using the router wirelessly. Insert the included disk into the computer and follow the prompts.
After inserting the disk into the optical drive of the computer, the user will be asked a series of questions about whether or not to install the drivers for the router. The user should select the response that allows the drivers to install.
After installation, the user will have the option to select their own password or to use the factory selected password. For ease of use, as well as security, the user should select their own unique password. Type this into the onscreen box and save the information. Some models may request that the password be entered twice. After saving the password, the router should be functioning and available for use.
After setting up the router all connecting components will need to be configured for use. All computers and tablets will need to be reconfigured with the password of the new router, as will any smart phones, televisions or media streaming devices.
